ISS Science Officer Ed Lu floats inside the Destiny Laboratory. |
No. 26 From:
Carmen, Highland Park, Calif., Age: 35
Question:
What temperature do you keep your rooms at? Does Yuri like it colder
or warmer?
Lu:
Well, all the modules are pretty much at around 72 to 73 degrees
roughly, plus or minus a little bit. Some of the modules are a little
bit warmer than others. It just depends on which direction the Sun's
at and so on, and how much equipment is turned on in there. Yuri
and I pretty much like it at about the same temperature. It's pretty
comfortable in here all the time. Not quite Hawaii, but it's not
bad.

Question:
I'm an amateur radio operator and have enjoyed a couple of contacts
with the ISS crew. I'm also very happy that you have made and are
currently making contacts with schools. I'm curious if you are still
making random contacts with ham radio operators, or is that on hold?
Thanks again, take care.
Lu:
I've made a few, and I also made quite a few contacts during Field
Day, which was a couple of weeks back, and I'm planning to make
some more. So if he's out there listening, maybe I'll get a chance
to talk to him one of these days.
