srb001.jpg --- A NASA ship reaches a spent Solid Rocket Booster, or SRB, floating in the waters off Florida's Atlantic Coast a few hours after it helped to lift a space shuttle off the launchpad. Reusable SRBs are jettisoned 75 seconds after liftoff, and they fall back to Earth to splash down in the western Atlantic. NASA's ships, Freedom Star and Liberty Star, stand by to recover the SRBs and take them to Port Canaveral. They will be refurbished for a future shuttle launch.
