srb004.jpg --- Divers from NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Fla., work to recover a spent space shuttle Solid Rocket Booster, or SRB. When an SRB splashes down, part of it fills with seawater through the nozzle. Divers use an Enhanced Diver-Operated Plug, or EDOP, to stopper the nozzle and pump out the water before loading it onto a ship and delivering it to a refurbishment facility. |
