srb006.jpg --- NASA's ship, Freedom Star, returns to port towing a spent space shuttle Solid Rocket Booster, or SRB. After every shuttle launch, Freedom Star and its sister ship, Liberty Star, are dispatched into the western Atlantic to find the spent boosters and tow them into port, where they are refurbished for reuse on subsequent shuttle launches. |
