JSC2007-E-23420 (9 May 2007) --- Astronaut/aquanaut Heidemarie M. Stefanyshyn-Piper (center), assisted by topside support divers, makes adjustments on her primary life support system (PLSS) center of gravity backpack configuration during a session of extravehicular activity (EVA) for the 12th NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations (NEEMO) mission. The reconfigurable center of gravity backpack is used to simulate moon walking. The NEEMO 12 crew is spending 12 days, May 7-18, on an undersea mission aboard the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Aquarius Underwater Laboratory, which is operated by the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and located off the coast of Key Largo, Florida.
