JSC2009-E-156449 (24 Aug. 2009) --- Upon reporting to the Johnson Space Center (JSC) to begin two years of preparation to become a full fledged astronaut, Scott D. Tingle speaks to a crowd on hand for a welcoming ceremony at the Houston space facility. The nine NASA, two Canadian Space Agency and two Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency candidates were introduced and spoke briefly at the ceremony before departing for the next portion of their agenda, a field trip to the state of Maine, for land survival training.
