JSC2008-E-006035 (10 Jan. 2008) --- A joint project among NASA, the National Space Foundation and ILC Dover gets well underway at the McMurdoo Complex in Antarctica. Personnel with ILC Dover, the company that manufactured the prototype of an inflatable lunar habitat, set up stakes, which serve as part of system to hold the facility securely to the ground. NASA and NSF are using Antarctica's frigid and isolated landscape to test a new architecture for astronaut housing on the moon.
