STS-107 Shuttle Mission Imagery

STS107-E-05690 (26 January 2003) --- This digital still camera's image, photographed from the Space Shuttle Columbia, shows Mt. Fuji on the island of Honshu, Japan. The snow-capped inactive volcano, surrounded at lower levels by clouds in this image, lies several miles south of Tokyo. The image was provided by the Earth Sciences and Image Analysis Laboratory at Johnson Space Center. Additional images taken by astronauts and cosmonauts can be viewed at the NASA-JSC Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth ( http://eol.jsc.nasa.gov/ ).
