STS110-E-5516 (13 April 2002) --- Astronauts Lee M.E. Morin (left, with feet in restraint) and Jerry L. Ross (partially inside truss at right) work on the International Space Station during the STS-110 mission's second extravehicular activity. Morin and Ross completed the structural attachment of the truss--the newest component of the orbital outpost, mating two large tripod legs of the 13 ½-ton structure to the station’s main laboratory during a 7-hour, 30-minute spacewalk. The station will ultimately span some 350 feet from end to end, slightly longer than a football field. The work of the two mission specialists complemented that of the previous day by astronauts Steven L. Smith and Rex J. Walheim.
