Walheim uses a tool similar to a putty knife to remove excess material from a membrane-covered cavity on a damaged section of thermal tiles. The aircraft flew a series of special parabolas to afford a number of zero-g “windows” for rehearsing extravehicular activity (EVA) tasks for repairing damaged Shuttle tiles. |
