STS-114 Shuttle Mission Imagery

JSC2005-E-31383 (31 July 2005) --- Karl Hamelmann and Nicole Jordan, spacesuit engineers working in the Crew and Thermal Systems Division, EVA and Spacesuit Systems Branch, conduct a test which is instrumental in planning the upcoming spacewalk on STS-114 to extract protruding gap filler material on Discovery. The test was to evaluate the amount of damage inadvertent contact with the spacesuit helmet could cause to the Shuttle tiles.
