STS-114 Shuttle Mission Imagery

high res (0.7 M) low res (87 K)
JSC2005-E-32510 (4 August 2005) --- One of four visual aids used by Shuttle Deputy Program Manager Wayne Hale during an August 4 press conference that dealt with important tests in wind tunnels at NASA's Ames Research Center. Engineers simulated the conditions of the Space Shuttle Discovery for a disrupted thermal blanket near the commanders window on the forward cabin of the spacecraft. Eventually it was decided that no additonal spacewalk work needed to be performed to fix the blanket.
