Higginbotham, STS-116 mission specialist, uses the virtual reality lab at the Johnson Space Center to train for her duties aboard the space shuttle. This type of computer interface, paired with virtual reality training hardware and software, helps to prepare the entire team for dealing with shuttle and space station elements. Station robotics instructor Paul Williamson (left) and robotics flight controller Robert Pickle assisted Higginbotham.
