JSC2007-E-053899 (23 Oct. 2007) --- Flight director Norm Knight watches the big screens in the space shuttle flight control room of Johnson Space Center's Mission Control Center (MCC) during launch countdown activities a few hundred miles away in Florida, site of Space Shuttle Discovery's scheduled STS-120 launch. Liftoff occurred at 11:38 a.m. (EDT) on Oct. 23, 2007 from launch pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center.
