Stephen N. Frick monitors launch countdown activities

JSC2006-E-25962 (4 July 2006) --- In the Shuttle (White) Flight Control Room of Houston's Mission Control Center (MCC), astronaut Stephen N. Frick monitors launch countdown activities a few hundred miles away in Florida, site of Discovery's scheduled STS-121 launch. Frick serves as the spacecraft communicator (CAPCOM) for the ascent and entry phases. The third STS-121 launch attempt proved successful around 2:38 p.m. (EDT) on July 4.
