JSC2007-E-114218 (20 Dec. 2007) --- NASA astronaut Rex Walheim and European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Hans Schlegel (partially obscured), both STS-122 mission specialists, are about to be submerged in the waters of the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL) near Johnson Space Center. Walheim and Schlegel are attired in training versions of their Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) spacesuits. Divers (out of frame) are in the water to assist the crewmembers in their rehearsal, intended to help prepare them for work on the exterior of the International Space Station.
