JSC2008-E-043207 (31 May 2008) --- In Houston's Space Shuttle Flight Control Room, astronauts Terry Virts (right) and Kevin Ford, seated at the Spacecraft Communicator (CAP/COM) console, follow the pre-launch activities of Discovery at the Kennedy Space Center several hundred miles away in Florida. The shuttle lifted off from launch pad 39A at 5:02 p.m. (EDT).
