S98-E-05733 (7 JULY 1998) --- Astronaut Jeffrey S. Ashby, STS-93 pilot, is pictured aboard NASA's KC-135 "zero-gravity" aircraft. The aircraft, based at Ellington Field near the Johnson Space Center (JSC), frequently flies a series of parabola patterns over the Gulf of Mexico to afford opportunities for astronauts and investigators to experience brief periods of weigtlessness. Ashby, connected to the harness of an exercise treadmill device, will join four other NASA astronauts for the STS-93 mission early next year.
