STS-95 Shuttle Mission Imagery

S98-14563 (July 1998) --- Several of the STS-95 crew members are briefed by principle investigators (out of frame) on an aerogel experiment--the study of the formation of sol-gel precursors in microgravity--to be carried aboard the space shuttle Discovery for the STS-95 mission. Pictured (from left to right) are U.S. Sen. John H. Glenn Jr., payload specialist; project manager Bill Powell; astronauts Scott E. Parazynski and Stephen K. Robinson, both mission specialists. This training took place in the flight operations facility at the Johnson Space Center. The photo was taken by Joe McNally, National Geographic, for NASA.
