97-16439 (December 10, 1997) --- Soyuz Commander and Cosmonaut Yuri Gidzenko and International Space Station Commander and Astronaut Bill Shepherd pose during training activities at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City, Russia. Gidzenko and Shepherd will be joined by Flight Engineer and Cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev as the first crew to live aboard the new station. They will be launched to the station aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft in January 1999.
