ISS011-E-09646 (27 June 2005) --- Lightning was the suspected cause of this giant wildfire, raging through an area northeast of Phoenix on Monday. This picture, taken shortly after 9 a.m. (CDT), is one of a series of images photographed by Astronaut John Phillips, Expedition 11 flight engineer and NASA ISS science officer, aboard the orbiting complex, flying at an altitude of 220 miles.
