Ansari and the Expedition 14 crew docked to the International Space Station Wednesday, September 20, 2006. A Soyuz TMA-9 spacecraft lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan Sept. 18, 2006 with astronaut Michael E. Lopez-Alegria, Expedition 14 commander and NASA ISS science officer; cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin, Soyuz commander and Expedition 14 flight engineer; along with American businesswoman Ansari, who will spend nine days on the station under a commercial agreement with the Russian Federal Space Agency.
