JSC2008-E-004146 (15 Jan. 2008) --- Six crewmembers connected to the International Space Station's Expedition 17 mission are introduced during a Jan. 15 press conference at the NASA Johnson Space Center. From second left, are Russia's Federal Space Agency cosmonaut Sergei Volkov, Expedition 17 commander; and flight engineers Oleg Kononenko (Federal Space Agency), Garrett Reisman, Greg Chamitoff and Sandy Magnus; along with South Korean spaceflight participant San Ko. San will launch on the Soyuz TMA-12 spacecraft April 8 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome under a commercial agreement between the South Korean government and Roscosmos for nine days on the ISS. He is scheduled to return to Earth April 19 with astronaut Peggy Whitson and cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko, commander, and flight engineer, respectively, for Expedition 16. Nicole Cloutier, pictured at left on the dais, moderated the event. [So-yeon Yi has been named to replace San Ko as South Korea's first astronaut, it was announced March 10.]
