JSC2008-E-126452 (24 Oct. 2008) --- Cosmonaut Sergei Volkov, Expedition 17 commander, attired in his Russian Sokol launch and entry spacesuit, makes a phone call on a satellite phone after being extracted from the Soyuz TMA-12 capsule. The Soyuz capsule landed on the steppes of Kazakhstan on Oct. 24, 2008 with cosmonauts Volkov and Oleg Kononenko (out of frame), flight engineer, and American spaceflight participant Richard Garriott (out of frame), ending a six-month mission for Volkov and Kononenko on the International Space Station and 12 days in space for Garriott under a commercial agreement with the Russian Federal Space Agency.
