The tree planting was part of traditional ceremonies as Hopkins, Kotov and Ryazanskiy prepare to launch Sept. 26, Kazakh time, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on their Soyuz TMA-10M spacecraft for a five and a half month mission on the International Space Station.
