JSC2003-E-46465 (1 July 2003) --- Employees of the Johnson Space Center's photographic lab took a short break from work on July 1, 2003 to send birthday wishes to astronaut Edward T. Lu, ISS science officer aboard the International Space Station. Lu, who calls Hawaii home, got the surprise of his life when hundreds of employees at various NASA field centers showed up at work attired in Hawaiian shirts and other tropical attire to honor their colleague.
