ISS007-E-17316 (14 October 2003) --- Maintaining a keen interest toward the upcoming launch of a Soyuz TMA-3 spacecraft from Kazakhstan, astronaut Edward T. Lu, NASA ISS science officer and flight engineer for Expedition 7, goes about routine duties onboard the International Space Station. The Soyuz will carry the Expedition 8 crew, along with a European Space Agency astronaut, to the orbital outpost, with arrival scheduled for October 20. The two-member Expedition 8 crew will replace the current inhabitants for a lengthy stint onboard the Station.
