March 12, 2001 - This video contains highlights of the activities performed by STS-102 Commander Jim Wetherbee and his crew preparing for and performing the second space walk of the mission to continue the outfitting of the International Space Station. Astronaut Susan Helms, who provided guidance for the space walk from inside Space Shuttle Discovery, assisted Mission Specialists Andy Thomas and Paul Richards with the suit-up procedures. During the space walk, Thomas and Richards installed the Early Stowage Platform and Pump and Flow Control Subassembly and also finished connecting power, data and video cables on the Rigid Umbilical Assembly. Richards depressed and released the "ready to latch indicators" on the Lab Cradle Assembly so that Mission Control could verify the correct operation of these components. Meanwhile, in the station, Expedition One Commander Bill Shepherd, Expedition Two Commander Yury Usachev and Expedition Two Flight Engineer Jim Voss moved systems racks from the MPLM into the lab. When they had two DC to DC conversion racks in place, Richards turned two circuit breakers to provide power from the station's P6 solar arrays. The movement of supplies from the Leonardo Multi-Purpose Logistics Module continued during the day.
