 Jan. 16, 2003 --- Prior to the launch of Space Shuttle Columbia at the beginning of STS-107, launch pad elements are retracted. In this video, the White Room -- the crew's access gantry to the shuttle's hatch -- and the External Tank's so-called "beanie cap" are remotely commanded away from the vehicle.
