Greenhouse - Integrated Plant Experiments on Mir (Phase 1A)

Wheat was planted during the Mir 19 mission to investigate the effects of microgravity on the production of crop plants. Crop plants grown in space will allow crewmembers to have a source of fresh unpackaged food for long-duration missions.
