Interface Configuration Experiment (ICE) - MGBX

MGBX Facility with ICE

Microgravity Glovebox (MGBX) facility with the Interface Configuration Experiment (ICE) on the Mir Space Station. The MGBX was used on the Mir station as a work station. MGBX provided the facilities to isolate microgravity science experiments from the Mir environment. Crewmembers could manipulate experiments without being exposed to hazardous conditions. The ICE experiment studied fluid behavior in microgravity by observing the shapes of a fluid in a exotic container. On top of the MGBX is a video camera mount that is used to film microgravity sciences experiments that are inside the glovebox.
