S69-22226 (24 Nov. 1969) --- The recovery of the Apollo 12 crew from the Pacific Ocean and the successful lunar landing mission are cause for celebration aboard the USS Hornet, as the ship's crewmembers assemble. Inside the silver-colored Mobile Quarantine Facility (MQF) are astronauts Charles Conrad Jr., Richard F. Gordon Jr. and Alan L. Bean. The three entered the MQF shortly after being recovered by a helicopter and flown to the Hornet. The Apollo 12 splashdown occurred at 2:58 p.m. (CST), Nov. 24, 1969, near American Samoa.
