JSC2004-E-27656 (21-25 June 2004) --- Eight new NASA astronaut candidates and three JAXA trainees join training staff and instructors for a group photo during water survival training at Pensacola Naval Air Station. From the left, kneeling, are JAXA astronaut Satoshi Furukawa, JAXA astronaut Naoko Yamazaki, two unidentified instructors, Jose M. Hernandez, Mission Specialist; and JAXA astronaut Akihiko Hoshide. Standing are NASA astronaut George Zamka, who accompanied the group for the five-day event; Dorothy M. Metcalf-Lindenburger, Educator Mission Specialist; Joseph M. Acaba, Educator Mission Specialist; Shannon Walker, Mission Specialist; Thomas H. Marshburn, Mission Specialist; Robert L. Satcher, Jr., Mission Specialist; Richard R. Three candidates have already had this training and were not on hand for the event.
