JSC2004-E-38911 (23-26 August 2004) --- NASA astronaut Christopher J. Cassidy (left) and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut Satoshi Furukawa assemble their survival gear into a makeshift backpack during 2004 ASCAN land survival training in Maine. The backpack is configured from a military issue coat, tied at one end and then using the tied sleeves as a sling.
