JSC2003-E-32527 (29 April 2003) --- A close-up view of a simulated section of a space shuttle’s external surface in the Systems Integration Facility at Johnson Space Center (JSC) is pictured while an astronaut (out of frame) uses a precision air-bearing floor to approximate some of the conditions of an in-space extravehicular activity (EVA) that might be called upon to repair damaged thermal tiles on a space shuttle.
