JSC2003-E-40732 (6 June 2003) --- This photograph is of a Space Shuttle thermal protection panel made of Reinforced Carbon Carbon (RCC) impacted by foam similar to that used on the Shuttle's external fuel tank. The June 6, 2003 test, conducted at the Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, was overseen by the Columbia Accident Investigation Board. The ruler in the photo is based on centimeters.
