JSC2003-E-52843 (12 August 2003) --- Onboard a KC-135 aircraft, this close-up view shows the gloved hands of a crewmember injecting the cure-in-place ablator into a damaged section of thermal tiles. The aircraft flew a series of special parabolas to afford a number of zero-g “windows” for rehearsing extravehicular activity (EVA) tasks for repairing damaged shuttle tiles.
