JSC2010-E-089897 (4 June 2010) --- After many months of training on two continents in simulators, NASA astronaut Shannon Walker, a flight engineer for Expedition 24, gets to spend a few moments to check out the systems in the Soyuz TMA-19 spacecraft that is assigned to take her and two crewmates toward the International Space Station on June 15. The prime and backup crews for Expedition 24 started dress rehearsals, fit checks and other preparations the after arriving earlier in the week at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Walker is scheduled to join NASA astronaut Doug Wheelock and Russian cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin to take the short trek to join up with two other cosmonauts and an astronaut already onboard the International Space Station.
