201106080008hq (8 June 2011) --- The Soyuz TMA-02M spacecraft launches from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan early June 8, 2011 (Kazakhstan time) carrying cosmonaut and Expedition 28 Soyuz commander Sergei Volkov, NASA astronaut Mike Fossum and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Satoshi Furukawa to the International Space Station. Fossum and Furukawa are flight engineers. The three will arrive at the station June 9 (Kazakhstan time) to join three other members of the Expedition 28 crew already onboard the space station.
